Welcome! My name is Liz, and I am one of the new tutors at the CDVL and CISAW at Agnes Scott College. Below you will get to know a bit more about me so you can feel more comfortable with me as one of your tutors in these spaces.

Some Fun facts about Liz!

Growing my family had a chameleon, two fire-belied toads, six dogs (at different points in time!), a sun conure, a rabbit, multiple salt and freshwater fish tanks, and an electric blue crawfish that had to be returned because it continuously snapped fish in half.
I am an avid collector of vinyl records, strawberry dishes (and all other types, too!), and large ceramic animals.
I was a horseback rider for over 9 years.
I have been crocheting since 2013, and I used to be part of my local community's Weavers Guild.
I have far too many creative projects that I still need to complete, much to my family's chagrin.

Where are you from?
I am from Brunswick, Georgia! My town is best known for inventing Brunswick Stew.
Where do you go to college again?

I am currently attending Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.

What's your major?

I am currently majoring in Creative Arts with a concentration in Visual Practices. I am also participating in Mercer's 4+1 Program, where I will get my Master's in Education.

What do you want to do after college?
After graduating from college, I am going to Mercer for one year to finish my Masters degree in Education. My ultimate plan after graduation is to be an art teacher.

Favorite thing to do as a DVL tutor

My favorite thing to do as a DVL tutor is to help people with their creative projects.

My favorite part of CISAW to hang out at is the couch next to the yarn wall.

What can my tutor teach me?

I can help my tutees with both artistic and digital skills!

I can teach students to use WIX, Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Omeka, Audacity, Extended Reach, WordPress, Canva, and more! Regarding artistic skills, I can paint, draw, make jewelry, sew, weave, crochet, scrapbook, paper mache, garden, collage, and use mixed media. I have been trained to use the button maker, poster printer, sewing machines, power tools, and other equipment in the CISAW Maker Space.

Workshops

What workshops have you taught in the past?

In the past I have taught workshops on jewelry making and how to make paper beads! I have taught workshops at other places too. At other institutions, I have taught people basic watercolor techniques, how to make rag rugs, how to crochet, yarn bombing, origami, and more! If you would like me to teach a specific workshop in the future or have an idea for one, please contact me below -- I'd love to hear from you!!

Where do you teach your workshops?

As a DVL Peer Tutor, I teach workshops through our Skillbuilder program. Therefore, these workshops are taught at either CDVL or CISAW.

How do I schedual an appointment?

To make an appointment with one of our DVL tutors you need to make an account on WCOnline and then you can select a tutor and time to meet with a DVL Peer tutor!

When does Liz work?

I work at CISAW on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, Fridays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am

I work at CDVL on Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm
